World champion and 2008 championship leader Kimi Raikkonen has defended Lewis Hamilton's poor showing at the recent Bahrain Grand Prix.

Hamilton, who in the Gulf dropped behind the Finn and BMW Sauber's Nick Heidfeld in the drivers' standings, came in for extensive criticism following his error-strewn run to 13th place.

"Lewis did not make many mistakes last year. This year, they are not in as strong a position with the car," Raikkonen said.

The 28-year-old was speaking at Ferrari's Fiorano test circuit last weekend for a Shell sponsor event.

He suggested that McLaren, rather than the 23-year-old Briton, is mostly to blame for Hamilton's form slump.

"Maybe it makes it more difficult when you do not have such a good package and you try to push more and more - especially during a race when your weekend has not been as good," Raikkonen added.


Despite winning the championship last year, Raikkonen said he now feels much more comfortable at Ferrari, whose current car he admits is 'pretty fast'.

"After three races, I am leading the championship and after three races last year I wasn't. So, I am very happy. I was in a new team and you had to expect a learning curve. The first year was difficult as it takes time to get used to people."

"Last year was tough for me. It is now much easier as they know what I want and I know what they want. Everything is very smooth and everything is improving," Raikkonen said.

- Significantly smaller barge boards in front of the sidepod.
- Heavily revised diffuser dimensions.
- Narrower rear wing.
- Wider front wing, and with the centre (500mm wide) section being FIA homologated and standard profile.
- Electronic, driver adjustable front wing angle to allow aero balance to be changed while following other cars - to aid overtaking.

There are also other changes such as :
- Slick tyres. Same outer dimensions as current tyres, but with grooves filled in.
- No tyre blankets allowed.
- KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery Systems).

V že potrjenem pravilniku naj bi pisalo 2m namesto 1.8m in po pisanju motosporta, se niti tehniki ekip tega še niso zavedali.

Uglavnem...to je tolk pomembna sprememba skoraj kot slicsi!

Super Aguri withdraws from Formula 1

The Formula 1 circus will have to continue the season with just ten teams in the paddock. Aguri Suzuki has announced the team is unable to continue in Formula One and will have to withdraw with immediate effect.

Aguri Suzuki entered Formula One with the Super Aguri team in the 2006 season.The team scored its first championship points in 2007 and finished ninth overall in the 2007 constructors' championship.

Speaking about the difficult decision team boss Aguri Suzuki had to make he said at a press conference in Tokyo: "In order to realize my dream to become an owner of a Formula One Team, I applied for a grid position in the FIA Formula One World Championship in November 2005. Since then, I have participated in the championship for 2 years and 4 months as the Super Aguri F1 team, but regretfully I must inform you that the team will be ceasing its racing activities as of today."

The word in the F1 paddock in Monte Carlo is that Fernando Alonso has just inked a deal to drive for Ferrari in 2010.

No confirmation is expected for a year, and there may be denials of any arrangement, as there would obviously be some serious knock-on effects for other parties in the F1 paddock.

Alonso went to Renault this year after splitting with McLaren unexpectedly at the end of last season. It was a stop-gap solution for the Spaniard, although it was dressed up as the big return to the team with which he won his two World Championships. This year the team's performance has been rather disappointing and Fernando has scored just nine points, while Nelson Piquet has failed to score and the team is languishing in seventh place in the Constructors' Championship. Unless there is a dramatic improvement soon the team will have no hope of finishing the year better than fourth in the championship and there have been rumours for some time that ING may be looking around at other opportunities.

Fernando has made no secret of the fact that he will consider other offers if they are sensible. He has been angling for a ride at Ferrari for some time. It may seem that is a rather premature move, but these days in F1 deals are being done much earlier than used to be the case. Kimi Raikkonen's deal with Ferrari, which began in 2007, was first reported as being done as early as October 2005. Alonso's 2007 deal with McLaren was announced in December 2005. Thus now would be the time that deals are being done for 2010.

Kam bo šel pa Kimi? Glede na politiko pri Ferariju in Alonsovo obnašanje si ne predstavljam Kimija in Alonsa v isti ekipi...
