It sounds like your Facebook account may have been compromised after clicking that scam link, and changing your password might not have fully resolved the issue. Here’s what you can do to regain control and stop the unauthorized posts on Marketplace:
  1. Secure Your Account Immediately
    • Log Out of All Devices: Go to your Facebook settings, navigate to "Security and Login," and check "Where You're Logged In." Log out of all sessions you don’t recognize or just hit "Log Out of All Sessions" to be safe.
    • Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): If you haven’t already, turn on 2FA under "Security and Login" settings. This adds an extra layer of protection by requiring a code sent to your phone or an authenticator app when logging in from a new device.
  2. Check for Compromised Access
    • Review Apps and Permissions: In settings, go to "Apps and Websites" and remove any unfamiliar or suspicious apps that have access to your account. Scammers sometimes use these to maintain control even after a password change.
    • Look for Account Changes: Check "Security and Login" for any recent changes to your email, phone number, or password that you didn’t make. If something’s off, undo it and update your contact info.
  3. Stop the Marketplace Posts
    • Delete Unauthorized Posts: Go to Marketplace, find the posts made in your name, and delete them manually if you can. If you can’t, it’s a sign the scammer still has access.
    • Report the Issue to Facebook: Go to the Facebook Help Center, select "Report a Problem," and explain that your account is being used to post without your permission. Provide details like the scam link you clicked and what’s happening now.
  4. Protect Your Device
    • Run a Security Scan: The link you clicked might have installed malware on your device, allowing scammers to bypass your password change. Use antivirus software (like Malwarebytes or a built-in tool like Windows Defender) to scan and clean your device.
    • Avoid Reusing Passwords: If you used the same password elsewhere, change it on those accounts too, as scammers might try to exploit that.
  5. Monitor and Follow Up
    • Keep an eye on your account for more strange activity. If the problem persists after these steps, it’s possible the scammer has deeper access (like a hijacked session token). In that case, contact Facebook support again and consider temporarily deactivating your account until it’s resolved.
Since you’ve already changed your password and the posts are still happening, it’s likely the scammer either has an active session, access via a connected app, or control through malware. Act quickly with the steps above, and you should be able to stop this. Let me know how it goes or if you need more help!
