The CSI Software & Custom Applications Practice (SCAP) is responsible for the inception, design, development and support of value-added custom software solutions based on current and next generation software architectures that augment and complement the functionality of Avaya products and applications for the greater benefits of our customers.
We are looking for talented and motivated individuals in the following position to join our Professional Services team in Budapest.
Software Solution Architect (0018624)
Responsibilities:
Salient tasks and responsibilities will span multiple roles, and include, but are not limited to the following:
 In collaboration with platform SMEs, comprehension of complex customer business scenarios, identification of existing gaps with respect to available Avaya platform/product functionalities;
 Translation/decomposition of gaps in technical solutions and appropriate software requirement sets (functional, technical, user, etc.) for client-specific Avaya business communication systems and applications;
 Authorship and maintenance of technical solution documents which leverage the Avaya products SDKs and APIs; these solution documents include component and deployment architectures, software design documentation and cost/time/resource estimates;
 Support for internal technical design reviews, with a view to continuous re-factoring and optimization of the existing component catalog and the evolution of a modern service-based software architecture;
 Occasional customer-facing engagement in the early phases of strategic sales cycles/opportunities, representing the SCAP and the added value it brings to the Avaya sales proposition.
 Primary liaison with the regional and global SCAP teams; work performed in close collaboration with software developers and other Avaya Professional Services staff
Requirements:
The ideal candidate’s skill set and experience will include:
 Previous experience in one or more platforms and products that compose Avaya's solutions portfolio, or similar offerings (e.g. Cisco, Genesys); examples are multimedia Contact Center, CTI (Computer Telephony Integration), IVR (Interactive Voice Response), speech- and video-enabled self-service solutions; Unified Communications, including mobility, messaging and conferencing applications; CEBP (Communications Enabled Business Processes) solutions
 Field-tested ability in consolidating, analyzing and translating business requirements in software architectures and designs
 Knowledge of modern, object-oriented paradigms (J2EE, .NET), service-oriented frameworks, and Web application development protocols and architectures (SOA, Web Services) is mandatory, while some previous exposure to Agile development methodologies and processes as well as modeling languages such as UML or BPEL, and development frameworks such as Eclipse is considered a plus
 Familiarity with emerging telecommunication standards and knowledge of relevant domain protocols and languages such as IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem), SIP (Session Initiation Protocol), VoiceXML, CCXML, etc. constitutes a strong differentiator
 Excellent customer-facing communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills in English language
 Ability to perform work with minimal direction from senior management
 7-10 years work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
 Though located in Budapest, travelling to customer sites and other Avaya offices across EMEA is required to fulfill the role
