On Saturday 7th February in the state of Victoria, Australia,
the temperature hit 46.4C (115.5F) in the city of Melbourne and a crazy 48C (118.4F) a little further out.
*48C temperatures
*Gale force winds over 100km's an hour (62miles per hour)
*The air as dry as a bone, humidity well under 10%
*We have been in a drought for the last decade so the earth was dry and ready to explode into an inferno if a fire started.
*Mass murders who started the fires
Add all of these together and it has become Australia's worst Brushfires.
Entire towns have been wiped off the map, with aerial images of the region showing an eerie moonscape of blackened earth and collapsed homes where fields and communities used to stand.
Towns have been declared crime scenes and the death toll in Victoria's bushfires could top 300 as the grisly search for bodies continues in communities which have been completely wiped out.
The toll has reached 181 but that figure is certain to climb with the grim task of recovering more bodies.
More than 750 homes have been destroyed, 330,000 hectares have been burnt out and more than 52 fires were listed as still burning throughout the state of Victoria.
A bushfire scientist has compared the intensity of the inferno to a nuclear strike. The energy released from the 'hell on earth' fires equates to 660 Hiroshima bombs!
Flames reached up to 80m (263feet) high!
Doctors treating Victorian bushfire burns victims say the disaster is worse than the Bali bombings.
